Ms. Serbian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocational Education from San Diego State University, a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counselor Education from the University of Texas at Austin. She is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor ( C.R.C.). In 2003, with grant funding, she co-created a supported living program called Life Works and served as the Coordinator through the San Diego State University Foundation. In 2007, she was employed as the Project Coordinator for SafePlace, a comprehensive victim service program for people with disabilities. In this capacity she provided leadership, strategic planning, and conducted training symposiums for peace officers and other professionals on many topics including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Trauma Informed Care. In addition, she has worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor providing career counseling and developing training curricula. Since March 2014, Ms. Serbian has been employed as a DSPS adjunct instructor and Access Technology Specialist in Continuing Education and has worked with faculty, staff, and students at the North City Campus and the Educational Cultural Complex.
