Ann McCrory

English as a Second Language


Ann taught elementary school for nine years and she was instrumental in developing several programs to enhance parental involvement in the schools. In 1980, a love for diversity and travel took Ann on a year and a half trip through nine countries in Africa and Asia. She began teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) at a college in Katmandu.
Upon returning to the U.S., Ann taught education classes at Palomar College for a few years and then began teaching ESL for San Diego Community College Continuing Education in 1988. In 1996, she completed her TESOL Certificate at San Diego State University. In 2000, Ann received a full-time contract as Associate Professor in ESL, and she continues to enjoy teaching and learning from her students at the CE Mesa Campus. Ann currently serves as the chairperson of the ESL Textbook Committee.
