Michelle applied ten years of business and international operations, organizational development, and training skills to higher education in 2001, developing and leading the Admissions Processing Center at Alliant International University through the implementation of a centralized office that serviced seven campuses. She moved on to the San Diego Community College district managing projects and resources to support the institution’s student, faculty and research systems and operations.
Michelle was previously responsible for managing and enhancing the non-credit Business & Information Technology Program at all six San Diego Continuing Education campuses along with Continuing Education's Distance Education Program. In the Fall of 2013, she opened the new 42,000 square feet facility designated as the Campus of Excellence for Multimedia and Innovation for San Diego Continuing Education. The new facility provides state‐of‐the‐art and technology‐ rich classrooms, computer labs, multipurpose areas, and administrative offices to support the business technology curriculum. The building received a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.
Michelle is now Dean of Institutional Effectiveness responsible for integrated planning and continuous improvement for San Diego Continuing Education. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness encourages and supports:
Evidence-based planning and decision-making
Improvements in student learning, student services, and administrative processes
Collaboration and coordination in order to make the best use of limited resources and achieve maximum effectiveness
Communicating institutional and educational effectiveness efforts to internal and external audiences
In addition, Michelle is an adjunct instructor in SDCE's Project Management Certificate Program.
