Data Entry Specialist

Background:

The goal of the Data Entry Specialist certificate program is to prepare the student with the skills necessary to enter the job market. At the end of the course the student will have a portfolio ready for professional presentation.

Typical Tasks:

  • Enters data from source documents into a computer using various data applications
  • Compiles, sorts, and verifies the accuracy of data to be entered
  • Verifies data entered with source documents
  • Updates entered data
  • Re-enters data in verification format to assure integrity and accuracy of data
  • Keeps records of completed work
  • Selects materials needed to complete work assignments
  • Generally works as a member of a data processing team

Orientation and Registration:

Program Orientation is required in order to sign up for the program. At the orientation you will learn about the Data Entry Specialist Certificate Program curriculum, what your time commitment will be, and the resources available to help you achieve your goals. Orientation and registration takes place once a week.

To register for the orientation:

Call the counseling center at the Continuing Education campus where you plan to enroll to reserve a place in the orientation.
