What do Machinists do and what do they earn?
Machinists make plastic and metal parts for equipment, products and machinery. They must know mechanics, shop mathematics, how to read blueprints, and have familiarity with CNC machines. Generally, Machinists begin as Manual Operators. Starting wages range from $6.00 to $9.50 per hour.
What do sheet metal workers earn and where do they work?
Graduates from the program generally find entry-level work that pays $6.50 to $9.00 per hour. Employment can be found in shops that specialize in sheet metal, air conditioning and ventilation, maintenance mechanics, roofing and construction.
What do shipfitters earn?
Graduates from the program generally find entry-level work that pays between $7.00 and $9.00 per hour.
