LOCAL ADULT STUDENTS BREAK WORLD RECORD AT COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY

SAN DIEGO – On Friday, San Diego Continuing Education (SDCE) students made three important marks in history: 1) The group represented the centennial class for SDCE, which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year; 2) the class received more certificates of completion than any other class in SDCE’s 100-year history, and 3) the students broke the existing Guinness Book of World Records mark for most people throwing a mortarboard simultaneously.

Local Adult Students Awarded for Academic Achievement

SAN DIEGO—Nearly 100 adult students who attend San Diego Continuing Education (SDCE) classes were selected to receive $22,200 in scholarship awards, and were recognized during an annual ceremony at the Educational Cultural Complex on Wednesday evening.

“Receiving a scholarship is a significant recognition,” says Dr. Brian Ellison, Vice President for Instruction and Student Services at SDCE. “In many cases the award will help students continue higher education at City, Mesa or Miramar College.”
